The project aims to establish scientific and technical foundations for assessing climate-related socio-economic risks across Europe. During the initial phase, it mapped the state of the art in relevant modelling and governance approaches, defined sectoral and regional case studies, and initiated the development of key modelling tools and data infrastructures that will feed into the CrossEU Decision Support System (DSS).

Early stakeholder workshops were held to guide system design, and the conceptual architecture of the DSS—envisioned as the project’s main integrative output—has been outlined. These activities have positioned the consortium to move from conceptual groundwork toward analytical implementation and integration.

The main scientific and technical achievements to date lie in the establishment of harmonised methodological protocols, the definition of representative climate impact storylines, and the design of a multi-scale modelling framework linking biophysical and socio-economic systems.
