The aim of this project is to build a Hub with the University of Manchester (UoM) and National Environment Research Council (NERC) that provides innovative toolkits to support policy and decision making.
Connected Health Nation will build on work already underway at UoM linking health outcomes with environmental data, whilst Climate Ready Nation will build on projects at the Tyndall Centre and the Manchester Environment Research Institute with a focus on climate change mitigation and adaptation. NERC data is integral to such work and DAFNI will assist in building on this to allow integrated assess to support decision making.
The main objective is to build tools that are easily replicable to enable the development of additional use cases that can be applied to other cases to add further value in future.
Working with the Software Sustainability Institute, we will train and develop a new cohort of scientists who are experts in integrating NERC and other data sources to facilitate economic and social good.
