Notice to DAFNI Users
Weekend Closure 28 – 29 October 2023
SCD Shutdown October 2023
On the weekend of the 28th of October, the SCD datacentre and all housed services will be shut down for mandatory electrical safety checks. This will affect DAFNI, JASMIN and other platforms hosted by STFC. In order to prepare for this shutdown we will require:
1. Possible occasional short breaks in service while we test critical systems. Notifications of these breaks will be provided in advance via the DAFNI platform’s interface.
2. No more workflows to be started in the two days prior to the shutdown. This will also be notified via the DAFNI platform.
We will endeavour to bring the DAFNI Platform back online as quickly as possible following this shutdown, but may require your patience if we hit any unforeseen problems. Unfortunately this is not something which can be avoided.
Planned timeline:

Over the next month we will test recovery of critical systems in DAFNI

Fri 27 Oct: DAFNI will be shut down. All running workflows will be terminated.

Sat 28-Sun 29 Oct. Electrical safety checks will take place.

Mon 30 Oct. DAFNI will be powered back up. The exact time is not known yet.
